When you can’t even imagine that something like this would ever exist.
We have been in Ayada from 21 to 27 November. The 22nd it was my birthday, the 26th was the birthday of my partner.
Ayada team, knowing that has organized for me of course cake and candles, while for my partner, they have recommended the sand bank experience. I was skeptical, I personally was going for a traditional private dinner on the beach, but now:
I can just say that Ayada present us the best moment of our life.
Instead of the usual one day (or half) excursion on the sandbank, Ayada manages to offer you a picnick in the middle of the ocean. This option is only possible thanks to the professionalism and organization of the staff: chefs, waiters, butlers and two boats are at your disposal, to make this sunset in the front row unique.
Imagine arriving in a desert sandbank after a small boat trip, and see anything else than a romantic cabana and written on the sandbank “Happy Birthday”…
I can’t take credit for this. It was all Ayada team to be able to read and interpret my intentions, allowing us to live an unforgettable experience.

AYADA ROYAL OCEAN SUITE
With its distinct location on the edge of the jetty, this duplex split level presidential suite is considered an island enclave that offers spacious bedrooms on the ground and upper floors, a lavish living area and an upper floor terrace providing a 180 degrees view of the Indian Ocean and the horizon with absolute privacy.
SUNSET OCEAN FAMILY SUITE
Ideal for families travelling with older children, these west-facing over-water suites have two bedrooms; one with a glass floor panel and shower room, and the master bedroom with en suite full bathroom with separate tub and shower. Outside is a huge sundeck with dining table, over-water hammock, private pool, sun loungers, daybed and steps into the ocean below. Floor-to-ceiling windows line one side of both bedrooms ensuring direct access to the terrace and endless views of the horizon. Guests staying in our suites are treated with a range of luxurious bathroom amenities, including soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.
SUNSET OCEAN SUITE
This was our Suite. Offering absolute luxury and serenity over the Indian Ocean, our over-water Sunset Ocean Suites offer a master bedroom with private bathroom and a living area with a glass floor panel, an additional bathroom and pantry area, a huge sundeck with ocean hammocks and direct access to the lagoon and infinite views of the horizon.
SUNSET FAMILY LAGOON SUITE
Resting on the land with the outdoor terrace over the ocean, these suites are perfect for families, they combine the unique features of both the tropical garden and the magical view on the lagoon. These villas offer a large area encompassing one King size bed and 2 single beds complete with a large bathroom open in the intimate garden. The spacious outdoor terraces offer plush swing sofas, plunge pool to further enhance the tranquil setting and a direct lagoon access.
OCEAN VILLA WITH POOL
Poised over the lagoon, these over-water villas allows for idyllic contemplation whilst lounging on the ocean hammocks with the gentle lapping of the waves to soothe you. These spacious villas offer a private outdoor terrace, ocean hammocks, plunge pool, an uninterrupted view of the horizon and direct lagoon access.
SUNSET BEACH SUITE
These spacious beachfront suites offer a large living space with both indoor and outdoor shower, a spacious outdoor terrace and a secluded garden with a private pool and direct beach access. Sunset Beach Suites are located on the part of the island where sunsets are the most beautiful.
BEACH VILLA WITH POOL
Beach Villas are located on the idyllic stretches of the white sandy beaches. These 103 sqm beachfront villas offer a beautiful private garden with a spacious plunge pool, a large veranda and a bathroom with bath tub and outdoor shower in the back courtyard.
Food and Drink
The Ocean Breeze open-air restaurant stands over the turquoise blue waters of the Indian Ocean and is the ideal setting for a sophisticated lunch or dinner. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the horizon, the unique seafood display on a traditional Maldivian dhoni replica or marvel at the delightful marine life in the shimmering waters surrounding the restaurant as you savor a tempting menu of modern European dishes, seafood specialties and other perennial favourites. As one of the most romantic settings on the island, this elegant restaurant and bar is the ideal venue for an indulgent aperitif. Lounge and relax whilst you listen to contemporary music by day, take in the sunset in the evening, or dine by candlelight under the stars.
Magu – The main restaurant is located on eastern front of the island facing the ocean. Open for breakfast and dinner, this dining venue showcases a generous international buffet with daily changing themes of cuisine. The menu has been carefully crafted with an abundance of variety and flavor in mind. Magu allows for indoor or outdoor dining with seating in either the enclosed air-conditioned wings or the open pavilions.
Kai. An exquisite range of far-eastern and Asian delicacies awaits in this gem of a restaurant hidden away amid tropical greenery. Open for dinner, diners can choose from an extensive sushi and sashimi list made from the freshest local seafood as well as classic interpretations of regional Asian specialties from China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. Indulge in the soothing ambience of Kai with its calm reflecting pools and typical Japanese inspired architecture, whilst enjoying a memorable evening of fine dining.
The Ile De Joie is truly an ‘island of joy’. Set 100m over the lagoon, this over-water cheese and wine bar is home to the island’s fine wines cellar, offers an extensive selection of cheeses and a humidor stocked with a variety of the finest cigars available. Diners can choose to sit at the bar, walk through the chilled wine-fridge or simply enjoy the star-filled Maldivian night skies with our state of the art telescope and relax on the seats carved into the shape of dhonis, a traditional Maldivian sailing boat.
